The story of a photographer...

Hi, I’m Darla Harmon, a portrait Photographer in Brownsburg, Avon, Carmel, Indianapolis, Zionsville, Indiana plus Mid-Mo, Columbia, Jefferson City, Hallsville, Centralia Missouri. I specialize in fine art and lifestyle portraits for families, children, high school seniors, pets, as well as headshots and branding. I’m a mother of two beautiful adult girls, an amazing son-in-law and a Nana of two amazing cuties. 

My love for photography started at a young age of 11 when my Uncle gave me one of his cameras. Being behind the camera was a great way for me to escape from the struggles of confidence, and not being good enough. The first image of the barn, I captured on the farm I grew up on, I then developed the negative and created the image in a darkroom. Being able to capture that image and see it come to life as I was printing it through the negative I had created really took my love for photography to the next level. Also, this image is over 30 years old, the barn is starting to fall down and we no longer have that truck which in itself has so many memories for me that I treasure. Just in this one image my memory is flooded with so many memories and stories that I can share with my family.

Through photography I have gained amazing confidence within myself and I know that I am good enough! I want you to feel that same confidence that you are amazing and beautiful, and that feeling radiates through the camera. If you feel beautiful or handsome your images will capture that confidence and you will love them. Plus seeing them hanging on your wall, you will be able to treasure those ever changing moments, and smile with confidence.  

The other three images are of my family, the love of my life, and the sweet grand babies. Being surrounded in my home by amazing pictures of my family during every stage of life, to me makes a perfect home.  

I love being behind the camera, and being able to capture amazing images of tomorrow’s memories for you to treasure for a lifetime, just like I have.  ~ Anyone can take a pictures...a person with passion sees the picture before it's taken~
